Ding Dong, the Bitch is Dead
Finally, mercifully, the well-gaped bitch of Bush is gone. Celebrate. The Wall Street Journal issues a ridiculous defense here. Bottom line, the man who facilitated Guantanamo, who said--out loud--that Habeus Corpus wasn't guaranteed in the Constitution before the Senate, that it was a-okay to torture people and wisk people away to foreign prisons with no charges, is gone. Thank Goodness, and let us hope that a new Supreme Court will get us some of our liberties back, because the D's in Congress are too chicken-shit to try, apparently.
Chew your gum, Honey
A lesson in Beauty before Brains or, as I like to call it, my college dating life.
Self-loathing pervs
It has seemingly almost become a requirement to be not just gay, but creepy gay to be in the GOP. Take a look at this dude. And, of course, the Senator supported the defense of marriage act, supported a Constitutional ammendment to ban same-sex marriage, opposed hate crime laws to protect gays, etc. My favorite part of the article:
He has supported a federal constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, telling his colleagues that it was "important for us to stand up now and protect traditional marriage, which is under attack by a few unelected judges and litigious activists."
So be traditionally married and just blow guys in the men's room, that's healthy and protects America. Amazing...

No End in Sight
I really, really, want to see this one. For those in the Phoenix area, it comes out Friday, 7 September at Camelview 5 in Scottsdale. A full theater listing is on their site as well.

Whole Ass
Go ahead and play word games with that. Mr. Rove leaves with the grace we've all grown accustomed to from him here. My favorite quote:
“The dividers, over the last six years,” he said, “have been the Democrats, who have routinely said he was not elected, he’s illegitimate, he’s a liar, he deliberately misled the country.”
Isn't that just precious? Why didn't he just call them poopyfaces while he was at it? And, for the record, I think it's pretty much proven that Bush did not win the popular vote in 2000 (though he certainly did in 2004--that is not disputed). He is a liar. And, he deliberately tries to mislead this country almost every time I hear him speak.
He misled conservatives into thinking he was going to be humble about foreign policy and control spending and the size of the government. He misled liberals into thinking that he would reach out to them--though he doesn't appear to reach out to other conservatives either, so I guess they shouldn't take it personally. He misled the American public day after day after day about the situation on the ground in Iraq. He misled the entire nation into thinking that a Homeland Security department was able to handle disasters and that we were safer.
Sometimes, Karl, a spade really is a spade. Your boy and his administration is a failure--just is. It may hurt, but I wouldn't point the finger at the other guy. Instead, you may well be wise to just bow your head, say goodbye and, most especially, "I'm sorry."

The Holy Grail
I am born again geek, Ladies and Germs (get it...Germs=Gentlemen...damn I crack myself up). Anyhoo, got a MacBook Pro. MMMmmMMM good, Baby! Not only is the underlying OS based upon FreeBSD--my fav opensource OS--with Parallels I can run Windows almost completely transparently at the same time. So...not only can I, say, compile nmap and have a ports collection manager for all the opensource goodness out there, I can run the mandatory Windows crap, watch a movie, surf the web, make a documentary out of my photos, all at the same time. Phucking rocks!
Anyway, now I know why so many people gush about these things. Now I get to be one of those Mac snobs. And unapologetically so.

Hillarah
Damn Hillarah. I can't believe that so many Democrats are so damn stupid. She's lapping the field in the polls, according to this site. Aren't we sick of the Bushes *and* the Clintons? She's about as genuine as a stripper's affection for you during a table dance. Isn't it obvious!?
D's, if you have just one chance--one chance--to lose this election *and* get the GOP band back together...it's Hillarah. People will come out of the woodwork to get politically active for nothing more than stopping her and Bill from getting back in there. And it will be the bad old days all over again. Right wing radio, Newt Gingrich, D's and GOP's spitting venom at each other, talk of "change for a better tomorrow" (or your other favorite cliche) while really more boring wonk bill after boring wonk bill gets debated as if it will destroy America if we don't choose correctly.
GAH! Wasn't Kerry lesson enough?
